Thanks Alot, MTV, for Making me Look Like aTotal Idiot

Two weeks after announcing what we thought were all the VMA nominations, MTV has announced a new category: Best Video with a Message. Not only is Taylor nominated, she's nominated for Mean. They chose to announce this very shortly after I posted a rant about what an injustice Mean's lack of nominations was. Good thing nobody reads this blog. Anyway, yay!
I still think this was one of the best videos of the year in general, but hey, a nomination's a nomination. She's up against powerhouses Eminem & Rhianna, Katy Perry, Pink and Lady Gaga. If you compare the buzz created by each one of their videos to the buzz created by Mean, you might think Taylor has no chance, but if you thought that, you would be totally underestimating the power of the Swifties.

These are the people who elevated Taylor from small-label Country singer to international superstar. These people are the reason she is so rediculously famous. They managed to get a song Taylor performed back in 2007 onto the Speak Now Album. It's the second track on the cd, for sobbing out loud. These are no amateurs. They know what they're doing. If anyone can get Down with the Swiftness this award, it's them.
Not that I don't consider myself a Swifty, it's just that I can't vote 'cause i'm Australian.
